Douglas K. Sheff Awarded 2014 Middlesex County Bar Association’s Outstanding Service Award
Sheff Law’s Senior Partner, Douglas K. Sheff, was chosen as the recipient of the 2014 Middlesex County Bar Association’s Outstanding Service Award for his leadership in developing public awareness of traumatic brain injury (TBI) and for his lifelong commitment to equal justice under the law.
The Middlesex Bar Association bestowed the prestigious award on Attorney Sheff at its one hundred and fourteenth annual banquet, held on November 6, 2014.Established in 1899, the Middlesex County Bar Association (MCBA) is one of the oldest, continuously operating, county bar associations in the country. The MCBA is a voluntary membership association open to all attorneys who practice in Middlesex County. The MCBA has several hundred members and maintains offices at the Middlesex Superior Court in Woburn.
The MCBA offers a variety of services to its members including: lawyer referral service; free membership in Working Advantage – a provider of discounted entertainment activities; group rates on insurance; Annual Banquet; Law Day Celebration; Bench/ Bar Meetings and periodic continuing legal education seminars. The MCBA also operates several public service programs including: the Middlesex Probate & Family Court Conciliation Program; the weekly Free Legal Information Clinic; a low cost ADR Program; annual Good Citizenship Awards to outstanding Middlesex County high school students and Suitability – a program providing gently worn business attire to low income adults.
The Outstanding Service Award is Attorney Sheff’s most recent in a long list of awards and recognitions in his fight for victims with TBI. He has received MATA’s Excellence in Advocacy Award for his work with victims of traumatic brain injury, the Wiedeman Wysocki Award, the ORT Award, Super Lawyers distinction in Boston Magazine, as well as numerous other awards for his zealous representation of victims with TBI.
